Services tomorrow for student killed in wreck

By Kevin Jefferies

Celeste – Funeral services are tomorrow for 20 year old Britney Lipsey, one of two A&M-Commerce students killed in a major accident along I-30 Sunday. Lipsey was a 2004 Celeste High School graduate who served as a lifeguard for the City of Greenville, gave swim lessons on the A&M-Commerce campus, and worked as a waitress in Commerce while attending school.

Lipsey was returning from a trip with 22 year old Rachel Rollings of Coffeyville, Kansas and 19 year old Ashley Bates of Commerce when their vehicle was struck head-on by a trailer carrying a car that had come loose from a moving van traveling the other direction along I-30 near Royse City. Rollings was also killed in the accident. Bates escaped significant injury.

Services for Lipsey are tomorrow at 10am at the Celeste High School gymnasium. Visitation is today at the gymnasium from 6pm to 8pm.
