Setencing delayed in child pornography case

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – Sentencing has been delayed in a federal child pornography case involving a Greenville man. Steve Kelby Samples, of Greenville, is now set to be sentenced early next year. Samples was convicted earlier this year on charges that included transporting, shipping and possessing child pornography. Samples faces a maximum statutory sentence of 30 years in prison and a $500,000 fine. The charges against Samples stem from an undercover FBI agent downloading child pornography images from Samples' computer in September, 2006. Samples pleaded guilty to the possession charge in August and was convicted at trial in September on the transportation and shipping charge.
