Seven arrested in Wolfe City drug raid

By Kevin Jefferies

Wolfe City – Seven suspects remained in custody on drug charges after a weekend raid in Wolfe City. The Wolfe City police, aided by the Greenville Police Department tactical team, served a warrant Friday in the 400 block of Mason. Four male suspects and three female suspects were taken into custody, and seven grams of methamphetamine, prescription drugs, and assorted paraphernalia was found. All suspects have been charged with possession of dangerous drugs in a Drug Free Zone, as the residence was within 1,000 feet of a school.

Two children were also discovered at the scene. A 9-year-old and an 18-month-old were transferred to Child Protective Services, and three of the suspects related to the children have also been charged with endangering a child.

Police returned to the residence Sunday to serve another warrant after discovering what appeared to be large amounts of stolen property during the original raid. Police believe the stolen electronics were being traded for narcotics. Additional charges are being prepared for those already in custody.
