Shake up at the Paris Fire Department

By Kevin Jefferies

Paris, Texas – There's a shakeup at the Fire Department in Paris. Three firefighters have left, and several more may be gone soon. Deputy Fire Chief Steve Neece and training officer Eddie Fitzgerald took early retirement last week, and firefighter Clay Cunningham resigned to take a job at The Colony.
Paris City manager Tony Williams recently ordered six cuts at the fire station, reducing the 51 man force to 45. 49 year old Neece said he did not like the direction the city was going, and cited that as one of the reasons for early retirement. It is not known if the 3 vacancies will affect the six cuts ordered by the City Manager.
