Commerce – A site has been chosen for the new $22 million Sam Rayburn Memorial Student Center on the A&M-Commerce campus. The corner of Stonewall and West Neal Streets in Commerce will be the location of the new 100,000 square foot student center. The University is in the process of purchasing additional land for construction that will place the new student center adjacent to the state-of-the-art Science and Technology Building that is in the final stages of construction.
Preliminary designs for the building will be presented to focus groups beginning in September with target date for completion of the building set for 2007.
