Sixth Court of Appeals to meet in Greenville

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – A case originating in Hunt County will be heard this week in Greenville by the Sixth District Court of Appeals.

The court is scheduled to hear arguments in two cases when it meets Wednesday morning, including an appeal of a conviction for drug possession from Hunt County.

Scott Lee James versus the State of Texas is the first case on the docket.

James, of Commerce, was convicted of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. Among the issues raised on appeal were the sufficiency of the evidence and whether certain evidence should be suppressed due to the allegedly illegal traffic stop.
