Commerce – A former Commerce officer will be honored in an upcoming awards ceremony. The inaugural Mike Pee Wee Walker Law Enforcement Awards Ceremony will be presenting 33 awards during the event, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22 at the First United Methodist Church of Commerce. Walker was shot and killed on June 13, 2005. Adam Ward of Commerce received the death penalty following his conviction last summer.
