Slideshow: 2016 Pecan Fest

The 2016 Pecan Fest is an annual event held in Pecan Gap, Texas.

The Pecan Fest kicked off with the parade down Main Street. There were fire trucks, cars, tractors, horse and buggies, hay wagons and more in the parade.

The day continued with a BBQ Brisket lunch served at the Community Center. The famous “Curtis Miller” brisket along with Potato Salad, Beans, cold slaw, pickles and a drink. This is a yearly fund raiser to help pay the utilities for the Community Center and the Volunteer Fire Department.

The Ladies Club sponsored a Country Store at the Pecan Fest.

New to the event this year was the “Story Telling.” According to correspondent Nelda Campbell, several prominent folks in Pecan Gap told funny happenings from the past.
