Hunt County – A small decrease in the tax rate for Hunt County could be coming as the Hunt county Commissioners Court meets today to begin budget hearings. County officials expect to increase budget spending by about 1% overall to pay for employees raises, fill several new positions, computer upgrades, and enhance courthouse security. But Hunt County Judge Joe Bobbitt said a small tax decrease is still expected.
Budget meetings are scheduled to begin at 10:30 this morning, and at 10:00 tomorrow morning.
