By Kevin Jefferies

Sulphur Springs – Funeral services are Sunday for the son of a Sulphur Springs couple that was killed on duty in Iraq. 24 year old Staff Sergeant Michael Chad Lloyd was killed alongside another soldier as they attempted to disarm an improvised explosive device while on combat operations in Baghdad last Saturday. Lloyd leaves behind his wife, who also serves in the Army and is stationed at Ft. Hood, and a three year old son. He is the son of Jimmy and Dena Lloyd of Sulphur Springs and Margaret Lloyd of Corpus Christi.

Services are set for 3pm Sunday at First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs, with burial to follow Sulphur Springs City Cemetery.
