SULPHUR SPRINGS - The Sulphur Springs School Board Monday afternoon unanimously approved the appointment of John Prickette to fill the seat recently vacated by Foy Williams.
Williams resigned from his position January 1 due to health reasons. SSISD had postponed filling the seat in order to begin the search for a new superintendent.
According to a press release by the district, Prickette is employed by Grocery Supply Company and previously served as the Economic Development Corporation Executive Vice President in Sulphur Springs. He served as co-chair of the Citizens Committee in support of the bond proposal that was approved by voters in 2009. He has also been instrumental in developing the SOCKS (Support Our Campuses & Kids) adopt-a-school program.
“We are very excited to welcome John on the SSISD Board of Trustees. John is a strong and positive supporter of our schools and as a board we look forward to his contribution to helping lead our district in educating our children!” said Jason Dietze, Board President.
