Greenville – A new arrest warrant has been issued in a Commerce stabbing case.
Jeffery Lewis Atherly is accused of stabbing a female victim at an apartment last fall, and was scheduled to begin trial Monday.
However, the defendant failed to show for Thursday's pretrial hearing. A judge has now revoked Atherly's $50,000 bond, ordered a new warrant for his arrest, and denied a new bond in the case.
The alleged stabbing occurred in September in the 1400 block of West Neal Street.
