The Texas Department of Transportation has scheduled a public meeting to discuss the widening of State Hwy. 66 in Rockwall County.
The meeting will occur at Herndon Middle School in Royce City at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 28.
The proposed expansion would widen the two-lane thoroughfare to a four-lane or six-lane highway from the intersection with Farm to market Road 1777 (E. main St.) in Royce City to the intersection with State Hwy. 205 (Goliad St.) in Rockwall.
The project, which would broaden about 10 miles of State Hwy. 66, has been funded, with a price tag of around $17.74 million.
