Status of median project still up in air

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – The status for a raised median for Wesley Street in Greenville is still up in the air. Officials with the Texas Department of Transportation office in Greenville had expected to be notified about grant funding for the project before the end of 2008 but hadn't heard anything yet. TxDot applied for the grant and has proposed an access control project to include construction of a concrete curbed raised median along Wesley Street, from Interstate 30 to Joe Ramsey Boulevard. The project is being developed to reduce hazards to life and property for Greenville residents and improve traffic flow by minimizing congestion. The grant, if approved, would pay for installing the median, at an estimated cost of $1.5 million.
