Greenville – More efforts are underway to partner with a Lufkin industry which wants to build an electric generating plant in North Greenville.
Although a final decision has not been made on brining the facility to Greenville, the City hopes construction on the $105 million plant can begin within the next few months.
The Council is scheduled Tuesday to present a first reading of a proposed franchise agreement and vote to approve an operating agreement with Greenville Energy LLC and Southern Renewable Energy LP.
The GEUS board also intends Thursday to vote on a franchise agreement with the company.
