Storms blow through area

By Kevin Jefferies

Hunt County – Some wind, lightning, and cooler temperatures rolled in last night as a line on thunderstorms crossed Hunt County, but little rain fell. Nickel sized hail and winds up to 60 miles per hour accompanied the storms that blew through the area around 7pm last night. Celeste reported wind gusts around 60 miles per hour, 1.6 inches of rain in just a few minutes and a 20-degree temperature drop was reported in Fannin County, and winds snapped power lines and helped fuel grass fires near Lone Oak and Caddo Mills.

The storms blew through quickly and little rain was seen in Hunt County. The arrival of a cold front generated the storms. Expect cooler temperatures today with lows in the 50's tonight.
