Street improvement program beings Monday

By Scott Harvey

Greenville – The City of Greenville on Monday is scheduled to begin its 2009 Street Improvement Program.

The city council in July awarded a $382,736 bid to Viking Construction of Georgetown for the work. The project calls for a "slurry seal" rehabilitation of segments of 24 Greenville streets and roads, covering nearly 26,000 linear feet. About another 3,000 linear feet of Wesley Street, between Oneal and Lee Streets, is also scheduled to receive mill and overlay treatment.

Notices have been placed on doors prior to commencement of work to arrange for accessibility. More information about the project is available at 903-457-3135.
