Hopkins County – A Como-Pickton ISD student was injured Friday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle traveling along Hwy 11.
The crash occurred at the CR 2331 intersection in Hopkins County.
Reports indicate the bus was pulled over following a minor wreck and in the process of unloading students when a pickup truck hit the seven-year-old. The truck reportedly had to take evasive action to avoid colliding with one of the stopped vehicles behind the bus.
The child was airlifted to Children's Medical Center in Dallas. The extent of the child's injuries was not known as of late Friday. However, EMS reports that the child was conscious at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
