Student injured, arrest forthcoming in hit-and-run

COMMERCE - Commerce Police are investigating a Wednesday evening hit-and-run that left a university student hospitalized.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Monroe and Stonewall Street at approximately 9:30 p.m.

The student was transported by air ambulance to a Dallas hospital with undisclosed injuries. According to Assistant Police Chief Steve Harrison, investigators have identified and made contact with the suspect driver and were in the process of issuing an arrest warrant.
