East Delta Baptist Church, in partnership with local area churches, is reaching out to families of financially disadvantaged children attending school in the Cooper ISD by providing new clothing at the beginning of each school year.

Starting school in a new suit of clothes can build confidence, boost morale, and help children feel equipped to succeed in their studies.

These sponsors agree to provide, at a minimum, one new pair of pants, shirt, socks, and shoes for qualified recipients. The new school clothing is then placed in a brand-new backpack, and delivered to the school.

Student Outfitters is asking the Delta County community to participate in this effort by providing new backpacks for each child participating in the program.  Backpacks may be brought to East Delta Baptist Church or placed in the donation barrels at Hoity Toity or the Beauty Depot in downtown Cooper.

The deadline for donations is July 30, so in time for the schools to distribute during Orientation Week.

Individuals and churches may contact Program Coordinator, Gwendolyn Savage (903) 401-0987, to receive a sponsorship packet or to get more information.
