Sulphur Springs to celebrate City Hall centennial

Sulphur Springs City Hall will be hosting a grand opening and 100 Year Anniversary of building on Tuesday, July 15, 10 a.m. This date was chosen for the significance to the building’s history – July 15 will be the 100th anniversary of the first U.S. Post Office’s building dedication in 1914.

As part of the renovations, the city added a modern board room, a corridor with circular windows for displaying local art and a large porch on the south side. The expansion constructed to the west of building is approximately 5,000-square feet.

It will be open to the public and light refreshments will be served.

Sulphur Springs City Manager Marc Maxwell is looking forward to welcoming the public to the newly restored office building located 201 N. Davis at the corner of North Davis and Connally streets.
