Following a successful run on NBC's "The Voice," Hannah Kirby will be honored in her home town of Sulphur Springs. Kirby, 21, has been one of the top performers during this season of the program, a singing-competition-themed reality show.
The public is invited to a ceremony scheduled to begin at noon, May 6, at Sulphur Springs City Hall, 201 N. Davis St. A proclamation declaring May 6 Hannah Kirby Day will be read and a ceremonial key to the city will be presented, city events planner Gus Gustafson said. Light lunch snacks and a celebratory cake will be served, he said.
