Sulphur Springs man sentenced to 20 years

Hunt, Hopkins County – Methamphetamine has been declared as a lethal weapon in a local case. A Hopkins County man has been sentenced to prison after admitting to giving a teenage girl a dose of a controlled substance which almost killed her. Lendell Morgan of Sulphur Springs pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of aggravated assault, as he used a syringe to administer a dose of methamphetamine to a girl of less than 17 years of age in December 2006. Morgan also pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault of a child, and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
