Sulphur Springs, Paris schools pursuing major grants

Area school districts are asking for your help in obtaining grant money available through Clorox Cleaning Products’ Power A Bright Future program.

This is the third year the company will award four $25,000 grants and one $50,000 grant to help fund important programs in schools across the nation.

If approved, the Sulphur Springs ISD would use the money for playground equipment at the current middle school campus. Third and fourth graders will house the site in 2012 following the completion of the new Middle School.

The Paris ISD is seeking funds to upgrade wiring in their buildings and to purchase new computers.

Residents have until December 9 to submit a vote either online and/or by text. The website is http://www.powerabrightfuture.com, then search for your school.
