Sulphur Springs student flown to hospital

By Scott Harvey

Sulphur Springs – Administrators at Sulphur Springs Middle School are investigating an incident Monday that resulted in one student being taken to the hospital.

The female student was reportedly found not breathing, but then revived. She would eventually be transported to Tyler by air ambulance. It was unclear whether the girl intentionally harmed herself or that other factors played a role. The girl's condition was unknown at last report.

Assistant Superintendent Randy Reed said the district's thoughts and prayers are with her and her family at this time.

Extra counseling services would to be available Tuesday to any student who had a special relationship with the girl or felt in need of someone to talk to following the incident.
