EMORY - A reward has been posted for the arrest of an Illinois man, who has been missing for more than a month after he allegedly stole cattle from Rains County.
Ronald Ryan Shepard of Brookfield Cattle Company, was been indicted Monday on three counts of cattle theft from an auction market.
The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association says they began investigating Shepard last fall after Brookfield Cattle Company failed to make prompt payment on more than $600,000 worth of cattle from seven different East Texas auction markets. Shepard eventually made payment to six of the seven victims. Charges were filed on a lack of prompt payment to the final auction market in Rains County.
