Paris – Paris Police are led on a high speed chase through the city Sunday after responding to a call of shots fired.
The incident occurred in the area of 5th NE Street and Tudor Streets at around 8:45 p.m. Officers were advised the shots may have been coming from a white SUV in that area. Two vehicles matching the description were spotted.
While making contact with the second white SUV; the first then immediately left the area and was observed running a stop sign, leading to a high speed chase through several residential neighborhoods. It took two attempts in deploying stop sticks to slow down the vehicle, at which time a lone suspect fled on foot. The suspect eventually came across a large crowd of people where officers lost sight of him.
Shell casings, along with alcohol were found in the SUV. A possible ID has been made on the driver, but is currently being withheld while the investigation continues.
