Suspected killer appointed attorney

By Brad Kellar

Campbell – A man suspected of killing his wife was back in district court Wednesday. James Ray Brown Jr., charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of his wife, Avis Baker Brown, has now been appointed an attorney. Brown is being held at the Hunt County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond on the count of murder. James Brown reportedly told investigators he had mistaken his wife for an intruder last Saturday, although the shooting allegedly occurred following a domestic disturbance.
