Talks planned Friday on Greenville budget

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – More talk is expected Friday about the City of Greenville budget. City Manager Steven Alexander intends to make another presentation of the proposed budget and plan of municipal services for the upcoming fiscal year during the expected day-long meeting. Alexander presented his first draft of the budget to the Council August 12; a budget which includes pay increases for all municipal employees and a more than four-cent reduction in the ad valorem tax rate. Friday's workshop is designed as an opportunity to do any fine tuning to the plan before the start of public hearings on the budget and the tax rate in the next couple of weeks.
