Tatum's burglary trial to begin next month

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – Trial has been set for September 12 for a Commerce teenager charged with multiple counts in connection a burglary last summer.

Sabien Zane Tatum is alleged to have broken into a Hunt County residence and stolen numerous items, then stole a pickup truck from the location which he used to try and flee from law enforcement.

Aggravated assault charges were issued indicating Tatum used the truck an assault on two deputies. But those charges were later dismissed as Tatum was 16 at the time of the offense and had never been certified to stand trial as an adult prior to the indictments being filed.
