Texas college students face grant deadline
– Texas A&M University-Commerce is reminding students that just a handful of days remain to apply for the Final Stretch Grant Program for summer 2011.
This is a statewide program and awards will be available on a first come, first serve basis. The one time, up to $2,000 award, will be provided for the summer semester only.
To be eligible, you must be a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident, a Texas resident, you are to have received a federal Pell Grant in the 2010 - 2011 year, be classified as a junior or senior (must have completed at least 60 college credit hours), and enrolled full-time in a public or private community college or university.
Priority consideration will be given to students pursuing degrees in STEM (Physical Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) majors.
