Texas A&M University-Commerce economics professor Dr. Dale Funderburk says, while the recent low prices of oil have had an effect on the Texas economy, the effect has been a slowing of the rate of growth, rather than an actual downturn.  Dr. Funderburk says Texas is still producing more oil than it was a year ago.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
