Austin – The Texas House recently approved a bill that will raise car burglaries from a misdemeanor to a state jail felony. A&M-Commerce crime information officer Jason Bone said he's pleased to see the house approve the bill, and says it could have direct impact locally. Bone doesn't see the change having a major impact on actual enforcement of the law, however. The bill is now slated to go before the Texas Senate for consideration.
