SULPHUR SPRINGS - Three suspects believed involved in as many as 21 North Texas burglaries have been identified in the theft of a carton of cigarettes from the Sulphur Springs’ Walmart.

Darius Hampton, Fredrick Johnson and Marvin Jackson, all of Fort Worth, were taken into custody after a Saturday high speed police chase on Interstate 30, and a subsequent foot pursuit. The crime occurred before 3 a.m. Saturday at Murphy gas station.

Sulphur Springs Police Capt. Jay Sanders tells the News-Telegramthe police department was informed by officials at Walmart's corporate headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas of the suspects' possible connection to other crimes. They came to that conclusion based on the methods used in Saturday's break-in, said to be similar to about two dozen other burglaries at store properties in an area about 80 miles around the Metroplex.
