Tiger men and women earn victories Tuesday


Commerce – The Commerce Lady Tiger's basketball team took on Lindale at home last night.

After a slow first quarter start for both teams, Commerce pulled away from Lindale as the Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Eagles 53-38.

April Neal and Raven Massey combined for 31 of the Tiger's points with 16 and 15, respectively.

In men's basketball action last night, the Commerce Tigers battled the Quinlan Ford Panthers in a thriller.

With a back-and-forth game that was full of lead changes, the Tigers trailed the Panthers 58-55 until Commerce guard Damien Wilson hit the tying three-pointer with less than five seconds remaining, taking the game into overtime with the score knotted at 58.

Late in the O-T, forward Terrance Walker made the game-winning layup giving the Tigers a 65-63 victory.

Walker and guard Evan Chapin combined for 41 of the 65 Tiger points with 16 and 25, respectively.
