Commerce – The Commerce High School Tigers kick off their football season tonight in Bonham. Third year head coach Bill Draughn will be putting some new players in key positions, with a new quarterback, starting running back, and new receivers. There will be some big men returning to help anchor the offensive and defensive lines, however, which the Tigers will lean on for success. Fan can expect to see a new 3-4 defense in the works, too, as the Tigers try to adjust to several teams on the schedule playing pass-first offenses.
The Bonham Purple Warriors return most of their starters from a team than won the District 9-3A title last year. Bonham has dropped three straight to Commerce, being shut out completely in two of those.
Kick-off is set for 7:30 in Bonham, with the Pre-game show beginning at 7 here on KETR. New this season, the Tigers Tailgate Party here on 88.9 will give you all you need to know about tonight's game starting at 5pm.
