Torti ordered back to jail after bond ruled insufficient

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – A new arrest warrant is issued for a former Greenville High School student teacher, originally charged with indecency with a child.

Christopher John Torti, of Commerce, was arrested in October, alleged to have engaged in a sexual act with a 15-year-old student away from the Greenville campus last spring.

He's since been released on bond. But Assistant Hunt County District Attorney Keli Aiken is now arguing Torti's bond is insufficient, based on inappropriate contact with the child victim. A new arrest warrant was then issued.

Torti was not listed in custody as of Tuesday.
