Paris – Lamar County Chamber of Commerce President Mindy Moree indicated that they are expecting up to 1200 riders in this year's Tour de Paris due in large part to a change in the route.
The change was necessary because of the construction of the extension of North Collegiate in front of the new Paris High School. The new route will send riders through other parts of Lamar County on roads that are smoother than the prior route.
The 26th annual Tour de Paris takes place July 17. More information is available at tourdeparis.com.
