Trail delayed in Rains County triple murder

By Brad Kellar

Rains County – Trial in a Rains County murder case has been delayed. During a hearing Thursday, trial for Erin Caffey was moved from January 5 to February 2. Caffey is alleged to have been involved in the murders of her mother and two brothers, as well as the shooting of her father, who survived, on March 1. No trial date has yet been set for Bobby Gale Johnson, another suspect in the case. Two other defendants, Charles Allen Wade and Charlie James Wilkinson, entered guilty pleas Nov. 7, and are facing an automatic sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. Wade and Wilkinson have also agreed to testify against Caffey and Johnson. The murders are said to have resulted from Caffey's parents attempting to come between her and (Charlie James) Wilkinson, her boyfriend.
