The ongoing saga of the proposed TransCanada Keystone XL pipeline set to run crude from the tar sands of Alberta down to Galveston is making the rounds on the web. Here's what we've found so far.

Saul Elbein with the New York Times published this article on May 7th about the land owned by Julia Trigg Crawford in Sumner, TX.

The Sun News indicates that public support is behind Calgary-based TransCanada in the construction of a $275M oil terminal that will be the head-end of the pipeline bound for the gulf, set to open in 2014.

It appears that Berkshire-Hathaway billionaire Warren Buffet is also behind the idea of the pipeline, which would begin operation in 2015, pending US approval.

And landowners in Nebraska still don't seem to be warm to the idea of an oil pipeline running through the Sand Hills, even after plans were redrawn to include a new route that avoids an area residents indicated they wanted to protect from the effort.

KETR will continue to follow developments regarding the TransCanada Keystone XL Pipeline project.
