Tree Lighting Tonight in Greenville
By Brad Kellar
It’s going to start looking a lot more like Christmas starting tonight in downtown Greenville.
The 22nd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony is scheduled this evening in front of the Police and Courts facility at 3000 Lee Street downtown. Activities begin at 5:30 p.m. as the Greenville Parks and Recreation Department will be offering free Christmas ornament decorating and refreshments, as well as horse-drawn carriage rides.
The tree-lighting ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. Mayor Steve Reed will present his holiday welcome before throwing the switch to light the 30 foot bosom fir. The event is also expected to include Christmas carolers and a visit from Santa Claus.
