West Tawakoni – Trial is set to begin for a West Tawakoni man, accused of assaulting his wife.
Jury selection was held Monday, with opening arguments scheduled for Tuesday for 34-year-old Jason Steven Zimmerle.
Zimmerle received two indictments in June for assault causing bodily injury with prior conviction. He was alleged to have assaulted two family members in March. In May, Zimmerle received an indictment for aggravated assault causing bodily injury. Zimmerle was accused of assaulting his wife with a pistol on two occasions in November 2008.
The indictments allege Zimmerle was also convicted of assault/family violence in 2005.
