Trial begins in marijuana possession case

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – Trial begins Thursday in a marijuana possession case.

Christopher Gatewood, of Magnolia near Houston, was one of four people arrested earlier this year and indicted for the possession of the drugs. A jury was chosen Monday with opening arguments and the start of testimony set for Thursday.

Gatewood, Demetrius Walker, of Houston; and Lakita Cantrell and Keith Prather, both of Cincinnati, were stopped by an officer in February when the marijuana was found. Cantrell, Walker and Prather still have trials pending in the case, and all three were among the witnesses subpoenaed to testify against Gatewood.
