No one was injured in a Tuesday afternoon two vehicle accident which sent a pickup truck crashing into a downtown Greenville building.

No one was injured Tuesday afternoon in a two vehicle accident which sent a pickup truck crashing into the CrossFit gym in downtown Greenville.

The Greenville Police Department said the accident at the intersection of Johnson and Lee Streets was called in at approximately 1:16 p.m. Tuesday.

A 1972 Chevrolet pickup driven by Vincent Varone of Greenville was travelling westbound on Lee Street and a 1997 Ford F-150 pickup operated by William Rockett of Greenville was northbound on Johnson Street. Rockett allegedly ran a red light at the intersection, with Varone’s Chevrolet striking the Ford in the right rear, causing Rockett’s truck to lose control and collide with the building housing CrossFit.

No one was inside the gym at the time of the crash, and the sidewalk and building both sustained damage. Both drivers were uninjured, although both trucks were damaged and towed from the scene.
