Texas A&M University-Commerce defensive lineman Charlie Tuaau added to his postseason honors on Wednesday when he was named to the 2013 Daktronics All-America second team.

Tuaau was a first team all-LSC performer and earned the league's top defensive honor as Defensive Player of the Year Award, along with the nod for the league's top defensive lineman at season's end.

All season he proved to be one of the biggest headaches for offensive linemen throughout the season. The junior from Wahiawa, Hawaii led the Lone Star Conference in both tackles for loss (25.0) and sacks (12.5), ranking among the top-five nationally in both categories. Tuaau finished the season with 59 tackles, including 31 solo stops, with a pair of forced fumbles and fumble recoveries.

He is the third Lion to earn Daktronics all-America honors, joining J.D. Hearn in 2005 and most recently Ricky Hope in 2008. Tuaau qualifed for all-America honors by being named to the all-Super Region IV team on Dec. 5.

The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., and the team is voted on by the NCAA Division II members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA).
