Two arrested in Commerce for narcotics possession

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – Commerce Police are reporting the recent arrest of two individuals for illegal narcotics following traffic stops.

48-year-old Ron Edward Reed was found in possession of two to four ounces of marijuana in a Drug Free Zone, or within 1000 feet of City Park. Reed's bond was set at $15,000.

A separate traffic violation led to the arrest of 33-year-old Martin Jimenez, of Greenville, who had apparently just spend time in jail the previous night.

Officers were given permission to search his vehicle where they found a small baggie of what is believe to be methamphetamine. Jimenez was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Reports indicate he had just bonded out of jail the night before for the same offense. Bond was set at $2,000.
