Hopkins County – Hopkins County authorities were forced to give chase after a Houston man attempted to evade officers following a traffic stop.
The incident began when a state trooper attempted to make the stop on Interstate 30 near Cumby. But when told to exit his vehicle, the man took off running.
A manhunt then ensued, involving Hopkins County deputies, Sulphur Springs police, state troopers and a DPS helicopter. The man was captured two hours later.
His name was not immediately released. No word on why the man fled.
