Fannin County – Two people have been indicted by the Fannin County Grand Jury in connection with a woman who was run over while trying to prevent the abduction of her child. Sheffield Hayden III and Angela Jo Patterson have both been indicted for aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and endangering a child/criminal negligence.
25-year-old Shawna Case of Honey Grove suffered severe head injuries when she fell from the side of a moving car before being run over as she was trying to stop two people from taking her child. Patterson is the child's stepmother and Hayden is the child's uncle. Case shares joint custody over the child with the child's father, who was in Lamar County Jail at the time of the incident.
Case was transported to Parkland Hospital in Dallas after the incident, and remains there, but is showing signs of improvement.
