Two killed, one injured in Greenville wreck

Greenville – Two Hunt County residents were killed Sunday morning in an apparent head-on collision in Greenville.

The accident occurred at around 5 a.m. at the intersection of FM 5401 and the I-30 South Service Road.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a 1985 Chevrolet Caprice, travelling eastbound on the serviced road, collided head-on with a 1986 Chevrolet Blazer that was travelling westbound.

Both drivers, 23-year-old Cordney Guinyard of Greenville and 61-year-old Wayne Giroux of Lone Oak were killed in the accident. An unidentified passenger in the Chevrolet Caprice was injured and was transported by LifeStar air ambulance to Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

The accident is still under investigation.
