– A Lake Tawakoni cabin went up in flames Tuesday and the neighboring Lake Country Motel was extensively damaged on Hwy 276.
A dog was reportedly killed in the blaze. No other injuries were reported. Foul play is not suspected but the fire marshal is investigating.
In Rains County, at least one mobile home was destroyed and two others reportedly caught fire briefly Tuesday.
The incident occurred near Point. No injuries were reported. Large columns of smoke could be seen as far away as Mineola.
Fire crews from Point, Emory and East Tawakoni could do little other than simply try to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading even more. No injuries were reported.
